Men Still Over-Represented in Top Management, Study Finds

New data compiled by LinkedIn indicates that the gender gap at the top of the legal profession persists and in fact has not narrowed much in the past decade.

The business social networking company recently released the first article from a new monthly series titled “The Gender Ladder”.

Law firms “are saying the right things,” University of Virginia sociology professor Elizabeth Gorman told LinkedIn. “But, in terms of actual numbers, the change has been very slow.” The slow change is accentuated by embarrassing moments, such as recent partner announcements from top tier firms which continue to be predominately white male.  WOMN LLC has been working with firms to help top female talent become partners, and once elected to partnership, succeed by building their own books of business and honing management skills.
