To reduce gender pay gap — negotiate!

We all hear about the gender pay gap.  It is frustrating but what can be done about it?  A recent report from the job site Glassdoor finds pay negotiation to be one large driver of the wage gap.  Women are less willing to negotiate salaries than are men.

Studies have shown that women are less likely to negotiate over salary than men. Yet when researchers explicitly told job seekers that pay was negotiable, the gender gap disappeared.
