We Must End the Carnage
By Sheila Murphy and Marla Persky
The recent massacre in Atlanta that resulted in the killing of eight people, six of whom were Asian American women, is the latest episode of hate, misogyny and racism in our county. We must not become inured to the violence and murder. One of America’s strengths stems from our diversity. It is an asset, not an excuse for creating a caste system where communities must segregate in order to be safe. WOMN stands in solidarity with our sisters and brothers of all races and ethnicities and seeks to do our part to end the violence.
